Synopsis

Yehudit and Michael, a 60-year-old farmer couple who find themselves in a deep financial crisis and decide to end their lives. At the last minute, Yehudit regrets it, but for Michael it's too late. For the first time in forty years, Yehudit is left alone. Now she has to deal with fears, guilt that never let go, and debts that only grow larger. When creditors knock on her door and demand their money, Yehudit flees to Eilat, hoping to start a new life there. In the foreign city, Eli a hotel manager, recognizes her distress and agrees to hire her as a chambermaid. Gradually, Yehudit begins to build a new life for herself.

RUTHY PRIBAR is an Israeli writer-director, exploring emotionally resonant narratives with a subtle directorial style. An honorary graduate of The Sam Spiegel Film School, her debut feature film ASIA premiered at Tribeca 2020 and garnered critical acclaim, earning multiple awards, including the Nora Ephron prize. The film went on to win nine Israeli Academy Awards and represented the country at the Oscars. Her second feature film, 'What Is to Come' premieres in competition at the Tribeca Film Festival.
