About Us

Gum Films is a production house for feature films and documentaries. Its founders, Yoav Roeh and Aurit Zamir, graduated from the prestigious Sam Spiegel Film and Television school. In 2008 they started Gum Films, a home for fresh talents and unique cinematic voices.

In addition the company develops platforms and formats for the new media. They developed the platform Active-U which was awarded the first prize in the Deutsche Telekom international competition for innovation in interactive TV.

Gum Films has produced films for broadcasters in Israel and worldwide. Among them: Israel's Channel 2 – Reshet and Keshet, HOT, YES- satellite TV, France's TV5, Belgium's RTBF, Canada's CBC, UK's BBC, Denmark's DR. The company has produced films with the The Jerusalem Film Fund, The Israel Film Fund, Rabinovitch Foundation for the Arts, Makor Foundation, Gesher Film Fund.

    Yoav Roeh

    Owner of Gum Films Production Company, graduate of the prestigious Sam Spiegel Film School, and a film and TV producer since 2002. Yoav has produced numerous fictions, documentaries and TV series within different collaborations and has achieved international recognition and awards. Serching for new ways to tell stories he has developed with his partner the platform Active-U which was awarded the first prize in the Deutsche Telekom international competition for innovation in interactive TV.  In addition he lectures on film production in a number of universities, serves in the advisory committee of Herzeliya Cinemateque, and is a graduate of Management of Art and Culture institutes at Tel Aviv University Faculty of Business Management.

    Before establishing Gum Films he produced feature films and documentaries within different collaborations. Among them: * Zion and His Brother/Eran Merav (Sundance 2009). * Noodle/Ayelet Menahemi (Special Grand Prize of the Jury, Montreal World Film Festival, 2007) * What A Wonderful Place/Eyal Halfon (Special Prize of the Jury, Karlovy Vary Film Festival. Best Film, Israel Academy Awards, 2005) *Melting Siberia/Ido Haar (Official Selection, Silverdocs, 2005 ) * Summer Story/Shmuel Haimovitz (Official Selection, Berlin Film Festival, 2005)* Miss Entebbe/Omri Levy (Glass Bear- Special Mention, Berlin Film Festival, 2003).

  • Aurit Zamir

    Aurit Zamir

    Producer, writer, script editor. Aurit graduated from the Sam Spiegel Film and Television School with special honors in 2002. Her graduation film 800 Calories screened at festivals worldwide and won many prizes. Since graduation she has established herself as a writer, producer and director. Her short film Babysitter was awarded Best Film at Haifa Film Festival and Best Director at Flickers Rhode Island Film Festival. She most recently co-created and co-wrote the series The Truth with Daphna Levine for Kan 11. The series sold to multiple territories including AMC, Canal+, BeTV. She is currently developing the series The Black Sea with Daphna Levine & Shiri Artzi, The Mouth which participated in the Sam Spiegel Series Lab, with Shiri Nevo Fridental as well as the feature film Bitch with the support of the Israel Film Fund. In addition Aurit is a film & television educator and former Director of the Sam Speigel International Film Lab as well as Co-Founder and Director of the Sam Speigel Series Lab.
